Competition for the General Courts of Appeal: Three Candidates Have Confirmed Their Ability to Administer Justice

On April 20, 2026, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, sitting in the plenary session, considered the issue of confirming the ability of one candidate for the position of judge to administer justice at the Kharkiv Court of Appeal and of three candidates at the Odesa Court of Appeal.

Following the results of the qualification assessment, Iryna Berezovska confirmed her ability to administer justice at the Kharkiv Court of Appeal.

At the Odesa Court of Appeal, Hryhorii Shabratskyi and Illia But confirmed their ability to administer justice. Petro Zhovtan failed to confirm his ability to administer justice in the general court of appeal.

In total, interviews were conducted with 16 candidates for the Kharkiv Court of Appeal: 10 candidates confirmed their ability to administer justice, and 6 candidates will be interviewed by the plenary session the Commission. The qualification assessment has been suspended for 2 candidates.

Interviews were conducted with 48 candidates for the Odesa Court of Appeal: 18 candidates confirmed their ability to administer justice, 15 candidates failed to confirm it, and 15 candidates will be interviewed by the plenary session of the Commission. One candidate withdrew from the competition.
